The Tower of Babel – Shop of the Day 116Fathers’ Day today so I let my son choose the shop of the day today. Little surprise then that this was top of the pile! The oldest toy shop in the world! Founded in 1760 as ‘Noah’s Ark’ in High Holborn by William Handley it eventually moved to regents St in 1881. This flagship store is 7 floors and has over 50,000 toys inside! I’ve become increasingly interested in how we consume for our children and wonder if we are instilling in them that buying new things makes you happy and what this holds for their future…not that my children are aware of this yet!
